  • The possibility of living in the UAE for six months after its expiration;
  • Applies not only to the holder but also to his/her family members
  • The possibility of simplified entry and exit from the country;

Step-by-step process for obtaining a UAE Green Visa
To obtain a UAE Green Visa, please use the following step-by-step guide:

  1. Log in to the GDRFA-Dubai app or the GDRFA website page and register by selecting the Individuals tab.
  2. Click on the service you need: Green Visa Processing.
  3. Select the subcategory according to your status: Investor, Freelancer, Skilled Worker, Commercial Project Partner.
  4. Attach the required documents.
  5. Pay the service fee.

You can track the status of your application through email notifications. If it appears that you have not submitted any documents, you will be given one month to upload them. If you do not submit them within the allotted time, your application will be automatically cancelled. If your application is approved, you will receive your visa by email.

It is also possible to apply for a Green Visa UAE offline by seeking help from the migration office. In this case, you will need to bring all documents in person.
What documents are required when applying for the UAE Visa?
Prepare the following documents to fill out the form on the GDRFA website:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher;
  • A document (bank statement) proving income for the last 2 years (minimum AED 360,000);
  • A document proving authorization to work as a freelancer in the Emirates;
  • Passport with a minimum validity of six months;
  • A photograph of the required size.

All of the above documents must be translated into English and certified.
Who can get it?
The UAE Resident Green Visa is created for the following categories of applicants:

  1. Freelancers and Self-Employed Individuals. To obtain a Green Visa UAE, these categories of individuals must have a bachelor's degree or special diploma, as well as a freelance permit issued by the Ministry of Human Resources (MoHRE). In addition, they must be able to prove their income (minimum AED 360,000) for two years or that they are financially sound for the duration of their stay.
  2. Qualified Employees. They must have a valid employment contract, meet the first, second or third professional classification level according to MoHRE, have a bachelor's degree or higher, and earn a minimum monthly salary of AED 15,000.
  3. Investors or partners in commercial projects. Must obtain approval for their investment and provide evidence of their investment activities as well as approval from the relevant local authorities.
How can UAE Green Visa holders sponsor their family members?
The UAE Resident Green Visa entitles its holder to sponsor his family members. This means that they can get the same visa thanks to him. The applicants can be:

  • Spouse of the applicant;
  • Sons up to the age of 25;
  • Unmarried daughters of any age.

The validity period of the visa of all these categories of persons will coincide with the validity period of the visa of its principal holder.
How to extend the visa?
After the five-year validity period of the UAE Green Visa, the holder is entitled to extend it for the same period if the conditions for its issuance are maintained. The holder and his/her sponsored family members may remain in the UAE for six months after the expiration of the visa.
